My personal story with Reiki Several years ago I underwent a gallbladder operation. It was only a month or so after I had done my Reiki-1 certification. In the days leading up to the surgery and the month after it, I did self-Reiki for 2-3 times a day, for 20 minutes each time. When I visited the surgeon a month after the surgery, he told me my recovery was after this first month where many people would be after 3 months! That took any of my doubts away about the value of Reiki. Soon thereafter I completed my Reiki-2 and Reiki-3 certifications with Joanna Yuan Crespo to become a Reiki Master Practitioner. (You only become a Reiki Master after many, many years of practicing...)
The Reiki System of Natural Healing for your Heart, Mind and Body. The word Reiki is a combination of two Japanese words, rei and ki. Rei is usually translated as ‘Spirit, transcendent, or Higher Source’. Ki is mostly translated as ‘vital energy’ or ‘life force energy’. Therefore, Reiki means spiritual or transcendent life force energy, or vital energy that comes from a Higher Source.
Reiki practitioners trained to transmit spiritual life force energy (Reiki energy) and learned a system how to apply it (Reiki System of Natural Healing). The Reiki System was founded and organized by the Japanese Buddhist monk, Mikao Usui, in the early 1920s.
When practicing Reiki, the practitioner directs the reiki energy towards certain areas of the body, holding their hands gently on or above the body, in a non-invasive way. The spiritual life force (reiki energy) acts as a catalyst, and reorganizes chaotic, congested, or de-vitalized areas into greater well-being, harmony and balance.
As a practitioner, we do not strive to change the person, but we look for more of the person that is in front of us.
The benefits of Reiki:
What clients experienced: “ I felt euphoric after our session … I think I must have been giving off a very good energy last night because all of these strangers kept staring at me on the train… I am grateful for everything you did.”(2019)
“it’s as though the fog has lifted…my head and mind are much clearer” (2018)
A mother about her veteran daughter with PTSD: "I'm glad that she is open to Reiki (...). She is more open with you than I've seen her with anyone and she seems very happy to speak and be heard. She is normally quite guarded..."
Clients may experience one or more of the following effects of a Reiki session:
Alleviation or erasing of physical pain or tension, because the Reiki energy induced a deep relaxation of the muscles, organs and/or tissues of the body;
Increased functioning and efficiency of a variety of physical systems (immune, circulation, digestive etc.), due to the strengthening and vitalizing effect of the Reiki energy;
It soothed and calmed emotional stress, because the Reiki energy assists the body/mind in processing the emotion’s chemical waste products in the body; and/or quieted mental stress, because the brain waves got into a deeper, slower state;
A sense of being more centered, and connected to a spiritual dimension, similar to meditation.
Most sessions will be experienced laying down on a massage table, and sometimes seated on a (wheel) chair, and last one hour. Optimal benefits for you, your nervous system and the rest of your body will be reached when receiving Reiki sessions on a regular basis. Please determine what would be most beneficial for you: a Reiki every week, every 2 weeks or every month. For that purpose we offer a 3- and 5-session Reiki package, which is good for 6 months from the date of the first session.
Since March 1, 2020 Reiki sessions have been done long-distance, and during home visits.
Note: There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for all sessions.
NEW: Gift certificates. Give the gift of relaxation, rejuvenation and renewal to a friend, colleague or family member!
With gratitude for the profound training and guidance I received from my teacher Joanna Yuan Crespo. (For more information about her and Reiki, please visit her website at www.reikirhapsody.com)
